• Accidental Innuendo:
  • The Little Bees keep going on about their stingers, and one of the Little Cars says that the Champion gets her motor running.
  • There's the infamous 'Neutral Spanish' dub of Little Cars in which the word 'race' is translated as 'corrida' (a term for ejaculation). Since it's a movie about cars, they use that word a lot.
• Alternate Character Interpretation: The mouth of Amanda from Little & Big Monsters defaults to a smile regardless of what her eyes are doing, so she always looks like she's either on drugs or cooking up some diabolical scheme.

• Angst? What Angst?: Pancada is completely happy about the fact that Polaris bet against him in the final fight.
• Awesome Music: 'Window to Nowhere' from the Gladiformers films. It also helps that it's a Real Song Theme Tune by a well-regarded Power Metal band.
• Designated Hero: Princess Iria from The Frog Prince is portrayed as a spoiled Hypocrite who doesn't bother looking for a potential husband who meets her expectations. When she does meet a prince who wants to establish a sincere relationship with her, she's not listening to him. Some of her dialogue paints her as a tragic princess who wants to find love, but her attitude and background makes her look a lot worse.
• Family-Unfriendly Aesop:
  • The Little Panda Fighter teaches us that it's okay to lie, cheat, and steal in order to get money and women.
  • Ratatoing teaches us that the way to be a heroic restaurateur is to steal all your ingredients.

  • The Little Cars teaches us that gambling is a worthwhile endeavor.
• Ham and Cheese: J. David Brimmer (aka Odion) is CLEARLY having fun playing Polaris in The Little Panda Fighter.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Their version of Rapunzel bears a considerable resemblance to Adagio Dazzle.
• Just Here for Godzilla: Many people who have watched these movies watch it for the English dub, done by none other than the 4Kids voice cast.
• Magnificent Bastard: Polaris in The Little Panda Fighter.
• Memetic Molester: This seems to be Video Brinquedo's interpretation of the Frog Prince. In his eponymous movie he's a slimy Manipulative Bastard who acts like he's entitled to have the princess just because he helped her out of a situation he caused. In Little Princess School he tries to rape the princesses' teacher.
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • The Greaster Car from The Little Cars Easter special. This automotive abomination has a white ghostly body with bright red eyes, a voice normally heard from psychopathic man-children, and appears in the dead of night by a lake that isn't really there.

  • In The Little Panda Fighter, Polaris's insane laughter is both this and a funny moments (in a very Narm-ish way).
• Padding: Re-used animation is par for the course with low budget productions, but Video Brinquedo do it to a ludicrous extent. Ratatoing for instance uses the same lengthy 'suiting up' montage three times, while The Little Panda Fighter has a shot of Pancada very slowly walking over to his boss's desk used twice.
• The Problem with Licensed Games: There actually was a licensed game based on The Little Cars, seemingly made by a one-person company and barely distributed anywhere. Its quality? Well... For one, the game employs an interesting score system where you receive one point every second, and the racer with the most points, i.e. the slowest one, is considered the best one—suggesting that the developer doesn't quite grasp the concept of a 'race'.
• Retroactive Recognition: Some of the original Brazilian voice actors, such as Alex Minei and Wallace Costa, have moved onto better works.
• Sequelitis: The company has been pumping out a lot of sequels to The Little Cars which are even worse than the first one.
• So Bad, It's Good:
  • It greatly varies, but there are some truly funny things about their films as a whole.
  • The endless barrage of car puns in The Little Cars is funny in an 'I can't believe you actually said that' way.
• Special Effects Failure: They're pretty much this to the entirety of the full CG animated movie genre. In other words, they're the polar opposite to Pixar.
  • A stand-out example happens in The Little Cars. The villain cheats at the race by dropping some tacks on the road, causing one of the racers to spin out of control. The race ends with him not paying attention and running over his own trap. However, the animators forgot to add the tacks to the scene where he drops them, so what happens instead is that the camera randomly cuts to a shot of the villain's taillights before one of the other racers suddenly spins off the track for no reason. The race ends with the villain running over some tacks that just happened to be sitting on the track.
• They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Video Brinquedo creates mockbusters of freshly-American animated films for a living.
• Uncanny Valley: The animation is very stiff and this is most noticeable on characters' faces. Even though they're not supposed to look like humans, they still don't look right:
  • The extras, announcer, and Satellite Love Interest in The Little Panda Fighter have human figures with crude bear heads and no textures. They look pretty creepy. Polaris's abs are similarly unnerving.
  • Some of the facial expressions can be downright horrifying.
• Unintentionally Sympathetic: Prince Zengui-Du from The Frog Prince falls into this category. Unlike the other bachelors (according toIria), he's actually shown to be interested in learning more about Iria and her kingdom and wants to talk with her, something she's been shown to want out of a partner. The only reason he leaves is because she's actively ignoring him.
• WTH, Casting Agency?: You'd never expect to say that in regards to some of the 4Kids actors appearing in the English dubs. Most notable are Wayne Grayson, Veronica Taylor, Lisa Ortiz, Mike Pollock, the late Maddie Blaustein, and Dan Green! However, their Ratatoing dub also has Vibe Jones, Urd from Ah! My Goddess!

• It has been billed as a rip-off of Dreamworks' Kung Fu Panda(not one of their absolute best films but still highly entertaining and well-made, everything The Little Panda Fighter is not) and it is, however that isn't even the worst of the problems, perhaps even the least.

Once you got over the fact that the voice actors were terrible, the animation was terrible, the music was terrible, the plot was terrible, and the script was terrible, the movie was still terrible. I have never wanted to cry so badly while watching a movie. If you want to die, watch this movie!!!!

A giant panda named Pancada works at a boxing club. He has dreams of one day becoming a professional dancer, and is in love with a waitress named Beth. His boss, a polar bear named Polaris, is scheduled to fight a large bear named Freak Teddy. Pancada visits his dancing instructor, Master Xin, who teaches him about loyalty. The following day, Polaris has found a black costume, and tells Pancada to wash it for him. The costume shrinks in the wash, resulting in Polaris having the appearance of a panda bear. As Polaris begins the fight with Freak Teddy, Pancada goes to a dance competition, wherein he ends up winning.

Polaris wins the match against Freak Teddy, and because of his panda-like appearance, the club's patrons mistakenly congratulate Pancada for being a powerful fighter. Pancada, having won the dance competition, erroneously believes that he is being congratulated for his dancing skills. After some words of wisdom from Master Xin, Pancada himself enters the ring to fight Freak Teddy and loses. After the fight, Polaris informs Pancada that he had made a bet that Pancada would lose the fight, and therefore, he becomes wealthy. After Polaris retires to the icy mountains, Pancada transforms the boxing club into a dance club.

The film was produced by animation studio Vídeo Brinquedo to coincide with the film Kung Fu Panda. The similarities that the film has with Kung Fu Panda have brought many to consider it a mockbuster, a characteristic associated with many of Vídeo Brinquedo's films.^[1][3] The film's animation was completed by Paulo Biagioni, Renato Fujie, Arturo Hernández, and its director, Michelle Gabriel.

Release and reception[edit]

The movie was released on DVD on November 18, 2008^[4] and was panned by critics, primarily because of its similarities to Kung Fu Panda, which was released only a few months before. On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a 'rotten' score of 17% based on 99 user ratings. A columnist for the website Nster News wrote, in comparison to Kung Fu Panda, The Little Panda Fighter is 'a trashy uninspired rip-off with a similar plot and lower budget'.^[5] Mike Jeavons of Channel Awesome stated that 'the animation is terrible, the dialogue physically hurts, and the story is contrived and barely feels complete enough to fill the 50-minute runtime. The music is bad, the whole thing lacks imagination, and the characters and their motivations are awful'.^[6]
