Tiffani and Anthony Bruderer are the parents of a spunky, adorable, feisty little boy, Canyon who is three and a half. For about two years, Anthony has been in the military. Often away from home so their plans to grow their little family took longer than they thought. They moved to Alaska in 2018 when he was stationed at Fort Wainwright in the US Army. They were still struggling to get pregnant. Tiffani finally went to the doctor due to her crazy, inconsistent female cycle. Finally around Mother’s Day 2019, they got the two pink lines they had been praying for. They were finally expecting a baby. When Tiffani was about two months along her body began what would seem to be a miscarriage. She went to the hospital only to see the baby‘s heartbeat was strong so the bleeding was coming from somewhere else. She went back home but continued to hemorrhage. For several weeks she would pass enormous clots and lose extreme amounts of blood. Doctors could still not figure out what was going on with her body, yet her baby remained healthy, active, and thriving. During an ultrasound to find out where the bleeding was coming from, doctors noticed an abnormality with the baby but no one said anything about it to Anthony or Tiffani. The bleeding continued but the baby continued to grow. At yet another ER visit a technician asked Tiffani if anyone had talk to her about the condition of her baby? She was confused and suddenly very scared. Doctors confirmed that their baby girl had a fatal birth defect called anencephaly. Their baby had 0% chance of surviving. At this point they had a difficult decision to make. They could choose to terminate the pregnancy, which most people would do. After all, 0% chance of survival is pretty grim. The alternative is to carry the baby to full-term and deliver, A baby that they could potentially spend a few minutes or even a few hours with before baby passes away. Then leave the hospital empty-handed with a body aching from delivery. Anthony and Tiffani made the decision to carry the baby to term and bless her with a few precious minutes of love, peace, and beauty. To complicate things even more, Tiffani has made the decision to deliver via C-section in order to make her time with Adalynn less traumatic to her tiny body. Statistically babies born via C-section live a little longer. The chance of an anencephaly baby making it to full-term is only 5%. However, we all know baby Adalynn is a fighter. Her mommy’s body tried multiple times to expel her tiny Body but our little fighter stayed strong. Adalynn strong. Tiffani and Anthony are very blessed to be covered under military insurance. However, there were several times the hospital on base were not able to care for Tiffani and took her by ambulance to the hospital in Fairbanks. Those hospital visits are not covered by insurance. Adalynn’s Funeral expenses, burial expenses are not covered by insurance. This amazing little family does not deserve to go into debt over something that is already so devastating. We are hoping to generate enough funds to cover medical expenses funeral expenses and burial expenses, including a beautiful little headstone in Idaho so they can have a place to visit her long after they leave Alaska. Any extra funds generated will go towards helping other families dealing with anencephaly as well as anencephaly awareness. Thank you for your consideration.
