I dont want to hear about work arounds and other console based control pad adaptations.
For PC, Joystick is an essential factor, true simulator or not.
This is NOT a difficult task of even a unrealistic expectation.
I bought this game SOLELY for the star fighter action.
If I want infantry based action I play BF4.
EA must provide Joystick support, simple as that.
I totally agree with this...it is a PC game.....EA...ADD joystick support - 359 postsMemberI've seen numerous calls for joystick support, and not a single answer from the devs. The silence tells me they have no plans to add it. Remember in the movies where the pilots flew using keyboard and mouse or a tiny controller and steered with their thumbs? Me either...

So DEVS.....when are you going to start listening to everyone and not just yourselves - 11 postsMemberIn the 1st game I always used my xbox one controller on my pc. Works marvelous.
In the 2nd game I just use mouse and keyboard. Feels way better than with a controller. I may be alone on this though. - 11 postsMemberHello All,
Great news!!!! BF2 does have support for joysticks. I am using x2 Warthog Hotas and Crosswind peddles!!! It's a dream.
{watch with volume low, first part of video I had audio issue}

@EA/Dice/Criterion Games,
Please add multiple joystick/control/axis support.
Also, check out the video above 2005 versus 2017.
2005 BF2
- dumb AI
- graphics not great
- multiple axis support !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2017 BF2
- great graphics
- AI seems ok
- I cannot use or configure 1 joystick - 2 postsMemberEA, add flightstick support. It was already dumb of you not to have done it for Battlefront, and even dumber not to rectify that monumental error by not putting this into BF2 (as it appears your developer clowns have managed not to do). At the very least, please explain by what logic you can justify not having flightstick support for a Space Combat *Flight* simulator.
Short answer: it's not a flight simulator. I understand that for people who use a joystick it's a huge deal, but that is honestly a very small portion and Criterion obviously didn't think it was a large enough population to cater to. Not that I think it's right, it's just that this is a more casual game and by no means a simulator.
In response to OP: this may be a little late, but I was like you in BF15 and absolutely could not play without a controller. However, I encourage you to give KB/M a fair shot in this game, as now that the soft lock is gone accuracy is once again very important. I tried several matches with my XB1 controller, and when I switched to KB/M I did astronomically better.
Need for speed is not a car simulator and still has wheel support... - 11 postsMemberHi,
Try JOY2KEY seems relatively easy to setup....about to test in game.EA, add flightstick support. Yes, I came across that. I had hope the video of battlefront 2 supporting multiple axis would shame them .
Unfortunately it is not a technical issue, but a financial issue. Shame. As it reduces the longevity of a game.
Anyway EA Battlefront 3, I will not purchase.
NB: It has no axis support but has lean mechanics... try 'Angels fall First' - 11 postsMember0
- 2 postsMemberI just realised that some BattleFront 2 developers are back to work at this project because people claims some things and they want to calm the crowd. So I beg you all starfighter pilots... CLAIM Joystick support. I think it's a shame we can't custom axis and buttons, which doesn't look that hard to develop.
This would be the best X-Wing experience since long time ago, is it that hard to achieve?
Best regards to all pilots and developers. - 1145 postsMemberSeptember 20, 2018 10:38AMedited September 2018I have played tons of flight/space simulators and I have HOTAS controller, but I didn't even noticed that this game doesn't have joystick support, flying with mouse is so much better in this game, much better than in SWBF2015.
- 1964 postsMemberoh I didn't realize they came with charging cords. Anyone have experience with a ps3 controller to PC? Those I already have, and thanks for all the feedback.
Depends on the pc but in most cases you will need software to pair it - 1 postsMemberI find it CRIMINAL when ANY PC game doesn't include Joystick support... and it is not included in Battlefront II ! Using a Joystick for control of flight and land vehicles is a standard feature of 'quality' games and I am tired of being boned by 'big-name' titles from sleazy developers who do not make these omissions evident until you buy the game and install it!
Shame on you EA... your past sins are coming back to haunt you. Get your act together before your customers put an end to the misery by refusing to buy any new titles! That time is fast approaching... - 1 postsMemberJust bought this game mostly for the flight sim action.
WTF - doesn't even recognise a Flight stick?! what **** thought that made sense? What a load of rubbish. I'll be returning for a refund if I can't find an easy hack to make my logitech work soon...
*sigh* why don't EA realise that Star Wars fans playing PC games love space combat - and Space combat isn't based on some crappy console gamepad!!
Really disappointed....
